The Prophet Muhammad rests in this magnificent mosque with ten minarets, which can accommodate 1 million tourists and is open 24 hours a day. The tomb of the Prophet is located under the green dome in the southeast corner of the mosque. After arriving in Medina, the Prophet Muhammad helped build the mosque, which was originally an open-air building and has since been expanded many times by generations of city rulers. The area between Minbail and the Prophet's Tomb is known as RawdahashSharifah or Noble Garden and is one of the Gardens of Paradise. Legend has it that prayers offered here are never rejected.
